PSA semen detection test is a chromatographic immunoassay used for the rapid detection and identification of PSA (prostate specific antigen).
PSA is a glycoprotein that is produced by the prostate gland and is one of the major proteins secreted in seminal fluid (at concentrations from 2.0 x 105 ng/ul to 5.5 x 105 ng/ul).
The detection of PSA is useful in forensic cases because it indicates the presence of seminal fluid even in samples that involve vasectomized or azoospermic individuals.
You may test more than one article or stained area at the time, but if the test is positive, you will not know which item contained the seminal fluid.

High sensitivity test with cut- off at 0.5 ng/mL of PSA.
The guaranteed detection limit of the test is 2 ng/ml PSA.
PSA concentrations lower than 0.5 ng/ml may be detected and reflected by a weak test result line.
